Style of history is a piece which depicts the different fashion trends that have appeared throughout the 20th and early 21st century. Fashion is something which is very important in our society, it allows one to showcase their individuality and their personality through a medium which can show itself to be nearly limitlessly creative.

The inspiration to create “Style of history” came from watching a fashion show and wondering what had inspired the designers to create the clothes that were being paraded on the catwalk. It made me want to experiment on my own to create a similar show. After considering a few mediums for the project, I settled for animating a catwalk. Then I chose one style per decade for the last century and narrowed the selection down to 6 trends: the 20’s, 40’s, 50’s, 70’s, 90’s, and the trend we are currently going through

Each clothing design was assigned a different paper texture which could easily be linked to the decade of said design by either its pattern or its colour. To accomplish the transition between each decade and to help with the flow of the piece, ink-styled effects were used.
